North York teen, two others, killed in Muskoka crash

A North York teen was among three Toronto residents who died after their car plunged into Muskoka’s Lake Joseph on Thursday, July 3.

Kourosh Totonchian, 19, of North York, and Tyler Mulcahy and Cory Mintz, both 20, of Toronto, died after their vehicle hit a guard rail and crashed into the water around 7 p.m.

The accident happened on Peninsula Road at the Joseph River Bridge, just east of the town of Minett.

Passenger Nastasia Elzinga, 19, also from Toronto, was treated for minor injuries at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital and released.

A post mortem is scheduled for July 5.

Bracebridge OPP are investigating the accident.
