Four Scarborough squads reach Robbie finals

 
 
Four Scarborough teams managed to make it to the final round of the 42nd annual Robbie International Soccer Tournament.

However, in all four cases the local squads had to settle for second place honours.

The Robbie tournament, held last weekend, has raised more than $1 million for Cystic Fibrosis research. Teams from across Canada and around the world, including Scotland, Trinidad and Tobago, the Unied States, Alberta and Quebec competed in this year's tournament.

The North Scarborough Bulldogs U11 boys played their championship game against East York United Football Club and lost with a final score of 3-1. Benny Ampofo was the goal scorer for the Bulldogs.

In the U13 girls division, the Scarborough United Fury 1 made it to the finals and lost 4-1 against the Oakville Hurricane '95. Tiffany Smith scored the Fury's only goal.

The Wexford Wolverines U14 girls competed in the championship game against Newmarket United and lost 3-0.

In the U18 boys division, Scarborough Blizzard 1 lost 2-1 against the Brampton East Ruffriders. Ruffin Lumbria scored for the Blizzard.
