THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION hosts its weekly Fish n' Chips night at 110 Jutland St. at 6:30 p.m. Karaoke, dancing and singing afterwards. All are welcome. Free parking.

Saturday, Aug. 23

EXHIBITION OF BONSAI at Sherway Gardens (Hwy. 427 and QEW) Saturday, Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. hosted by the Misseto Bonsai Club. Call 416-621-1070 for information.

THE UKRAINIAN CANADIAN Congress is hosting the Flavours of Ukraine/ Ukrainian Day Celebrations at Centennial Park in Etobicoke. The main attraction of the event is the live entertainment program that takes place at the main stage at the foot of Centennial Hill. Professional folk dance ensemble "Ukraina" will perform. A children's choir will perform original and traditional Ukrainian songs. The Ukrainian Star (idol) competition is open to all youth ages six to 25, complete with a panel of professional judges. Younger children can enjoy the supervised playground, which will include inflatable toys, crafts and more.

A DANCE FOR ALL takes place at the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 210, 110 Jutland St. at 8 p.m. Great DJ, and free admission for members. Non members pay $5.

THE REXDALE WOMEN'S CENTRE is hosting a full day of activities for its 30th anniversary celebrations. The day kicks off with a rally at 10 a.m., followed by a community festival between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and a general meeting at 2 p.m. The centre is located at Thistletown Multi-Service Centre/ Auditorium, 925 Albion Rd. (Albion and Islington)

Monday, Aug. 25

RICHVIEW UNITED CHURCH, 149 Wellesworth Dr. (at Eringate Drive), begins its weeklong Survivor Island Vacation Bible Camp today from 9 a.m. to noon for children ages five to 13. CHECK YOUR CAR SEAT at Toronto Police Divsions infant/child car seat inspection clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Serway Gardens.
