The families of two more houses evacuated during last week's explosion in Downsview are allowed to return home today.

That brings the number of houses where homeowners are still banned from returning down to five, according to Toronto Police Const. Wendy Drummond, who did not know when the remaining families will be permitted back in.

Residents of 57 and 63 Murray Rd. were to return to their houses between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Aug. 18.

All returnees are being asked to report to the police staging area at Murray and Plewes roads. The homeowners are also being asked to bring identification if possible.

When residents return home, they are asked to walk through their houses to ensure there are no safety concerns.

They are advised to secure their homes as best as possible. Anyone with concerns or difficulties securing their houses should call police at 416-808-2222.

Anyone who finds anything related to the explosion should refrain from handling it and call Toronto Fire debris and substance at 416-338-9001.

Residents should check perishable foods and throw out anything questionable.
