GOOD BEGINNINGS parent/infant support program helps new parents with practical assistance and emotional support for three hours a week during the early months of a newborn's homecoming. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older; visiting is done at the family's home with the parent present. Volunteers can provide emotional support to the parent of a newborn; hold the infant; play with the infant or the parent's other children; watch the baby while the parent takes a nap or shower or has a break as long as the parent does not leave the home; accompany the parent and baby to appointments and outings.
