DNA will likely be used to identify the body found at the Downsview explosion scene, police say.
The body was located a day after the Aug. 10 blast at a propane facility on Murray Road. It is believed the body is that of a worker at the facility.
Toronto Police spokesperson Const. Wendy Drummond said she doesn’t know how long it would take to positively identify the body.
Police, the fire marshal’s office and Toronto Fire Services continue to investigate the cause of the explosion at Sunrise Propane, which resulted in the evacuation of the neighbourhood.
District Chief Bob Leek of Toronto Fire Services died while working at the explosion scene. Several people received minor injuries.
