The Toronto Maple Leafs will not defend their Intercounty Baseball League title as they were swept out of the first round of the playoffs in four straight by the Brantford Red Sox.
It was sweet revenge for Brantford who lost to Toronto in last year's three-game championship final.
The Leafs, who play home games out of Christie Pits, lost their four games, 14-4, 4-1, 8-3 and 9-3.
It capped a so-so 40th anniversary year for the Maple Leafs who finished the regular season in fifth place with a 17-19 record - their first sub-.500 finish since 1987.
